Named after Naples, the birthplace of Pizzas, Via Napoli is a small little outlet hidden away amidst the by-lanes near SIES College Sion. If you love rustic, wood fire cooked, natural and fresh ingredients without the unnecessary frills and sauces, this is a place that should be on your bucket list. However, Via Napoli is a “takeaway only” pizzeria.
Just like their outlet, the menu is short and sweet as well. I tried out most of their dishes and I was quite impressed. I began with a round of Focaccia, Olive and Sundried Tomatoes, both were mildly flavored and bread was soft and fluffy.
Next I tried some of their deep fried dishes, the Mushroom and Thyme Arancini, Corn and Cheddar Arancini and Babycorn Fritters. Even though I’m not a big fan of babycorn, the ones I had here were delicious. However their dips were what bought these dishes to life. My favorite was a Spicy Thai Chili Dip which was absolutely volcanic.
Finally their main attraction, Pizzas!! I tried the Quattro Formaggio or Four Cheese Pizza and a Half n Half, which is a combination of Napoli and Premavera. The Quattro Formaggio was my favorite dish of the day, simple and cheesy.
