Baraesti, Tardeo

A rooftop bar and restaurant with a fusion theme located near the iconic Sardar pav bhaji in Tardeo, Baraesti is a place you have to visit. This restaurant was recently revamped, they now have a smaller menu with only their best dishes and the staff was kind enough to take us through the changes they have made.

We started off the night with a round of Moktails, a Pinacolada, Virgin Cosmo, Baraesti Fruit punch and their  House Specialty – Virgin Back Waters, which is a blend of Red Bull, Lime, Basil and Cardamom.

For starters we tried out their staff recommended Smoked Chili Fish and Golden Fried Mushroom with Honey Chili Sauce. Both of them were perfectly crisp and well spiced. We also tried out their Grilled Hot Pepper Chicken Chunks, which was Chicken Wings Tossed in a BBQ like sauce, sadly it was a bit overcooked.

My favorite however was the Kebab e Joojeh, Chicken kebabs which were tender and yet crisp and served with an amazing Moyo-Mustard Sauce. Strongly Recommend to try this dish.

For the main course we ordered their Fish sautéed in Peri Peri Sauce served with smoked rice and Pita Bread. A nice light dish but wished there were more chunks of fish in the gravy.

Wish some space still remaining, we ordered a Pav Bhaji Fondue and Steamed Chicken Momos, both were quite nice.

Finally for desserts we went with the Chefs Special Kesar Phirni which was loaded with flavorful strands of Saffron and the Phirni too was tender and delicious. A perfect end to an amazing dinner.

The service was quick and friendly and the ambiance too was lovely, perhaps it would be more amazing once the rains stopped and the roof covers are taken off.

Apart from food, drinks and sheeshas this place also lets their diners play board games while they wait for their meal to arrive and they even have a pool table.
